My motto in life has always been “personal responsibility” and that’s how I try to live every day – by taking personal responsibility for how I feel, how I act, how I affect others, how I work and how I play.
Now, I might call myself The Pickleball Guru, but just in case you had any doubt about it I’m NO less human than anyone else. I get hurt, angry, sad and frustrated about everyday things just like everybody does.
To me, the measure of how we live life isn’t about how many times we fall off the path we have set for ourselves, but about how many times we get back ON it.
When I teach pickleball, a lot comes up for people, that’s NOT just about pickleball. So much of our life experience gets transferred out onto the pickleball court.
Hard on yourself much?
Chances are, you’ll be hard on yourself in pickleball, too.
Feel like people walk all over you at work and at home?
Chances are, it happens on the pickleball courts too…
And that’s not to even mention what happens when you set foot on the court with your spouse or significant other…
Whether I’m playing pickleball, spending time with my family, or doing anything else, I believe in being honest, being loving, doing my best, and enjoying every day.
If you’re like some more inspiration along those lines, keep on reading…
“Prem, kudos to you. You have captured the magic of what you love.” ~ Kathy Kerst
I HIGHLY recommend you read this article. In fact, if you only read one article this year, I’d say it should be that one and then, perhaps, the earlier article he references, this one. It will move you. I used that article as an inspiration an wrote a blog post that will answer the question above, so what do you & Roger Federer really have in common?
… How would you feel seeing the love of your life as a 90-year-old? A young couple about to say their vows had the unique chance to do just that by aging over 60 years with incredibly life-like makeup and prosthetics. I dare you not to tear up as they fall in love again and again.
